THE CHAIRS - FREE DEBRIEF TOMORROW NIGHT Our current production, The Chairs, directed by Benedict Andrews and starring Peter Carroll, Lynette Curran and Aurel Verne closes this Sunday. Tomorrow night there will be a free debrief in the Upstairs Theatre prior to the performance. This is an excellent opportunity to hear about the production from an insider's perspective. BLACK MEDEA - IN REHEARSAL The cast and creative team of Black Medea have arrived in Sydney to commence rehearsals. Wesley Enoch has transported Euripides' classic Greek tale of revenge and sacrifice to contemporary Australia. Enoch's adaptation (he is also directing this production) ingeniously blends the cultures of Ancient Greece with Indigenous storytelling. The result is a bold and breathtaking commentary on contemporary Black experience. Black Medea features a fine cast that includes Clive Cavanagh and Kyole Dungay (two terrific young actors sharing the role of Medea's son, and both making their Company B debut), Margaret Harvey as Medea, Aaron Pedersen as Jason and Justine Saunders as Old Medea.
