Optus Community Access Program

Optus is proud to be the exclusive sponsor of the Community Access Program and partner with Belvoir to grow this worthwhile initiative. The Program helps Optus to further support our workplace giving charities, such as Youth off the Streets and Mission Australia by giving free-of-charge tickets to financially disadvantaged members of the community.

The Optus Community Access Program was consolidated in March 2006 and is made up of two key components: Belvoir's established Unwaged Performance Program (which is also supported by City of Sydney) and a Charitable Tickets Program.

Unwaged Performance Program
Belvoir’s Unwaged Performance program is now over twenty years old and has been sponsored by our Corporate Partner Optus, since 2006. Through the program we invite unwaged members of the community to attend a free-of-charge 2pm Thursday matinee performance of each Upstairs production in our season. A full house of 320 tickets are on offer for each performance and can be claimed on presentation of a Pensioner, Health Care or Veterans’ Affairs Card. To spread the word as far and wide as possible we distribute 5,000 Avant Cards promoting each Unwaged Performance to over 520 organisations including health centres, hostels, refuges and youth housing and employment services. Avant Card also distributes an additional 5,000 cards to arts and cultural venues, cafes and bars. Our Unwaged Performances have a very enthusiastic following, with queues for tickets often weaving all the way down Belvoir Street.

Unwaged performances are always on Thursdays at 2pm.

To claim your complimentary ticket: Visit the Belvoir Box Office in person from 12 noon on the day of the performance and present a Pensioner, Health Care or Veterans' Affairs Card. Seniors and Seniors Health Cards are not valid.

•    The box office will be open from 12 noon, and tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. You are welcome to queue outside the theatre prior to the box office opening.
•    Each patron will receive a ticket with a seat number printed on it. This is your allocated seat.
•    Unfortunately we are unable to hold tickets. If you are attending with friends or family and you would like to sit together, you will all need to collect your tickets from the box office at the same time.
•    The show will commence at 2pm, and doors to the theatre will be opened approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the performance.

The Charitable Tickets Program
The Charitable Tickets Program provides Optus with tickets to be distributed to its nominated community groups and charitable organisations. The tickets are used by charities for fundraising activities or as rewards and incentives for staff and volunteers.

Belvoir also independently fulfils around 50 ticket requests per year from various charitable organisations for fundraising events, in most cases giving double passes or even double subscriptions where appropriate.
